Mmmmmm, Puddin'
Well, the last few days has been quite kooky. Very busy with work, and tattooing my ass off. Which is always a good thing. But were really coming down to the wire on the secret project of mine. And there's so much that needs to be done. Throw in a couple of art show, not the least being my shared show at new Mexico's Strange Factory. And you've got yourself, a ton of shit, and a whole bunch of *agita for yours truly. Regardless, things need to be done, clients tattooed, paintings completed, and, drawings done. So on that note heres the latest gal completed yesterday. This is hopefully gonna grace the cover of said secret project. Hope I didn't let too much spill on that hint… Like all paintings, I start with a sketch. With this particular project IM going to be painting over 1/2 of her. So here IM starting with a sketch on Bristol Board (vellum Finish), than adding a thin wash of acrylic. Than I start layering in my airbrush work. IM trying to go with more of an Ochre tone, tinted with Violets, for warmth, and than layered with a lime green to cool it off in spots. The piece was changed from the initial Idea, which just had the Vampire Bride, minus the bitten heart. But after speaking with Jime' Litwalk about my first attempt at the cover. I chose to include the heart last minute. I added a bit of Fluorescent Pink, and a lime green to break her away from the sketch background, and the cool blues of the pencil.
